Improv workshop to feature Bethany Alumna

The Bethany College Theatre Department will welcome from Austin, Texas GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS, featuring Bethany alumna Sarah Doering ’14 and Topeka native Megan Flynn for a musical improv workshop as part of the 2017 Messiah Festival of the Arts on Monday, April 10.

The evening will begin with the workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Burnett Center at Bethany College. The workshop is limited to just 25 participants. Registration is free and can be made by calling the Messiah Festival office at (785) 227-3380, ext. 8235. At 8:15 p.m., the theatre doors will open for a GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS performance. A 30-minute talk back session will follow the performance.

GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS is Austin’s original all-female musical troupe. Entering its 15th year, GGG creates entire Broadway musicals on the spot from a single audience suggestion. Between theatre residencies and production of the Austin Musical Improv Love Fest, GGG has been honored with the Rudy Kloptic Award for Outstanding Improvisational Theatre Ensemble presented by Austin’s coveted B. Iden Payne Performing Arts Awards and recognized by the Austin Chronicle as Best Improv Troupe.

Joining Doering and Flynn on stage for their performance will be accompanist Dave Ronn. He began doing improv comedy in 2006 and co-founded the Austin musical improv troupe That Racket!
