SUMMARY:Juried Student Art Exhibition and Celebration of Women in Art Education
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Art and Digital Media at Bethany College in celebration of women in the arts in the Smoky Valley will celebrate the courageous and hardworking women art instructors within our local school systems.  The 2021 Messiah Festival of Art and Music will host a corridor exhibition of the artwork created by our local women art instructors alongside the traditional exhibition of artwork created by Bethany College students. The juror for the student exhibition this year will be visual artist Ms. Ruth Moritz. \nThe 2021 visual art exhibition will be hosted in the art gallery in the Mingenback Art Center (corner of Second and Olsson) from March 19 to April 4\, 2021 with an awards ceremony for the winning exhibiting art student work to be held on the Presser Auditorium stage on Palm Sunday\, March 28\, 2021. \nA small reception honoring all the art students exhibiting in the Messiah Festival for 2021 will be held at the Mingenback Art Center after Presser festivities have ended. The reception is open to the public with a total capacity of 20 individuals practicing masked social distancing guidelines. The reception will also be live streamed on the Department’s Facebook page for those who may not be able to attend in person.
