2017 Concert Season

The concert season of the 2017 Messiah Festival of the Arts kicks off Thursday, April 6, with a Bethany College Symphonic Band concert at 7:30 PM in Presser Hall Auditorium.

A Jazz Walk will take place in downtown Lindsborg from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on April 7.

Guest soloists for “Messiah” will perform in a recital at 7:30 PM on April 11 in Presser Hall.

On April 13, a Student Honors Recital will take place at 2:30 PM in Pearson Chapel.

2017 Palm Sunday Concert, 3:00 p.m.

The Messiah Festival of the Art is very pleased to announce TAKE 6 as the 2017 Palm Sunday event on April 9. TAKE 6 is a 10-time Grammy-winning a cappella group. For the complete bio, click here.

2017 Good Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Easter Sunday (3:00 p.m.)

The Bethany Oratorio Society will perform its historic and rich performances of J.S. Bach’s “Passion According to St. Matthew” on Good Friday, April 14, and G.F. Handel’s “Messiah” on Easter Sunday, April 16. The Bethany Oratorio Society has been performing Handel’s “Messiah” continuously since 1882 and Bach’s “Passion” since 1929. During Holy Week each year in Lindsborg, the more than 300 member community chorus and orchestra are joined by professional operatic guest soloists for the performances.

2017 guests soloists are Nola Richardson (soprano), Daniel Moody (alto-countertenor),  Tyler Ray (tenor), and Brendan Fitzgerald (bass). Soloist bios are available here.
