Student Honors Recital Letter to Instructors
Greetings!
Thank you for considering entering your students to be considered for the Bethany College Messiah Festival of the Arts Honors Recital, which is April 14th at 2:30! We hope to select 5 worthy high school students from McPherson and Saline counties to perform alongside the top Bethany College students. Those chosen will receive $100 cash, provided by the Lindsborg Arts Council!
There are many purposes for inviting high school students to participate in the college’s Honors Recital.
- Educational outreach for the college and the Messiah Festival of the Arts
- Educational opportunities for high school students
- A chance to give talented students an additional opportunity to perform
When considering which students to submit, please only choose those students who are “Honor Recital” worthy. This means that they perform at a high standard and are in good standing academically at your school. We want to honor only the most deserving students!
Procedures
- Record your student performing one contest song
- I plan to record mine during their Regional performance!
- Submit the video by April 4th via the google form
- Messiah Honors Recital Submission
- Again, please only submit those who are “honor recital worthy”
- Videos can be submitted through Google Drive or a YouTube link
- Messiah Honors Recital Submission
- A committee will evaluate the submissions and choose the top 5 entries. Teachers will be notified ASAP!
Those chosen will be invited to perform on the Messiah Festival of the Arts Honor Recital on April 14th at 2:30 pm. However, the entire day will be planned for them to have a Bethany experience! Students will attend classes, sit in on performing groups, eat lunch, get Bethany swag and have scheduled time to work with their accompanist. Please provide your own accompanist. BC will pay your accompanist $25 per hour for up to two hours. If a student cannot provide their own, Bethany can provide one.
If you have any questions or issues with the form, don’t hesitate to reach out! We can’t wait to feature 5 amazing high school students!
Sincerely,
the Educational Outreach Subcommittee of the Messiah Festival of the Arts
