LINDSBORG, KAN., April 6, 2022 – Nine Bethany College students were selected to perform at the Messiah Festival of the Arts Student Honors Recital at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in Pearson Chapel on the Bethany College campus. The performance is free and open to the public.


Students performing include (from left): Justin Woolsey, percussion, is an instrumental education major from Newton, Kansas. Christian LaCount, tenor, is a vocal music education major from Wichita, Kansas. Raleigh Jarrett, violin, is an instrumental music education major from Hutchinson, Kansas. Gracelyn Gaskill, soprano, is a music and chemistry major from Lindsborg, Kansas. Ariana Nunez, French horn, is an instrumental education major, from Salina, Kansas. Keely Tubbs, soprano, is a music major from Lindsborg, Kansas. Grace Ladner, organ, is a music performance major from Lawrence, Kansas. Aubrey Larson, mezzo-soprano, is a vocal music education major from Russell, Kansas. And Nikolas Lampman Thompson, guitar, is a music performance major from Newton, Kansas. Collaborative pianists are Brenda Finch and Judy Weber.

“We are proud to showcase these talented musicians. Developing one’s solo capabilities is essential to future success, and these students represent the high commitment to the art of performing music.  Their dedication is something to be celebrated” says Dan Masterson, Professor of Music.

The Honors Recital is a public recital during Holy Week, highlighting the best music majors and minors of the Bethany College Music Department. The Music Department faculty chose these performers from eligible students.

To be eligible for selection, the student must perform in the fall or spring department recital, degree recital, or have previously exhibited the ability to perform; and be in good academic standing.
