Matthew Reynolds

Matthew Reynolds, baritone, is pursuing his Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Oklahoma. Matthew made his professional debut in 2021 with Opera NexGen’s inaugural production of Così fan tutte, in which he played Guglielmo. At the University of Oklahoma, he has appeared in productions of Les pêcheurs de perles (Zurga), Così fan tutte (Guglielmo), Dido and Aeneas (Aeneas), and The Golden Cockerel (Afron). In February 2020, Matthew was the baritone soloist in the University of Oklahoma Chorale’s performance of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in D minor. During his undergraduate career at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, Matthew performed the roles of John Sorel in The Consul and Mr. Peachum in The Threepenny Opera, for which he was awarded a 2016 Alamo Theatre Arts Council Award for Best Supporting Actor. A former member of the OPERA San Antonio chorus, he performed in productions of Faust, La bohème, La traviata, and Macbeth. From 2017-2019, Matthew was one of twelve young American artists selected for the inaugural seasons of the Voces8 United States Choral Scholars Programme, during which time he was a featured soloist in the United States premiere of Paul Smith’s major choral work, A New World.
